Hắn sinh khi cuộc chiến người Việt dưới sự cai trị của đảng Cộng Sản quyết đánh thắng đồng bào bằng súng đạn của nước ngoài đã kết thúc hơn ba năm.
Hắn biết về chiến tranh qua những trang sử toàn thắng, Cộng Sản chính nghĩa, địch “ngụy”. Hắn phải học các tác phẩm truyện, thơ, nhạc… hừng hực đạo đức cùng máu hăng của cách mạng.
Hắn thấy về chiến tranh qua những hầm tránh đạn, giao thông hào chạy dọc theo xóm, nơi đặt súng máy ở Nổng Đế, Nổng Chùa… khi hắn đi giữ bò.
Hắn thấy về chiến tranh nơi vết thương trên cơ thể ba, thân mình cậu. Nơi những người đã mất một phần thân thể vì chiến tranh trong làng, trong xã.
Hắn thấy về chiến tranh vào tháng ba, bà nội làm đám giỗ cho bác hai, là người đã ngã xuống trong trận chiến cuối cùng của quân lực Việt Nam Cộng Hòa tại tỉnh Quảng Tín.
Hắn thấy về chiến tranh qua những mảnh đạn, vỏ đạn còn nằm lại trên đất ngoài rẫy, rừng xóm, núi Mun… hắn lượm về đổi cà rem. Lâu lâu lại nghe làng kia, xã nọ có người chết vì chơi đạn còn sót lại thời chiến.
Hắn nghe kể về chiến tranh, chiến sự quê hắn xã Kỳ Bình, quận Tam Kỳ, tỉnh Quảng Tín (nay là xã Tam Thành, huyện Phú Ninh, tỉnh Quảng Nam) hơn 20 năm, cộng sản chưa bao giờ nếm được mùi chiến thắng trước nghĩa quân xã Kỳ Bình. Dù các xã xung quanh là vùng da beo, mất an ninh, hoặc ngày của quốc gia đêm thuộc về cộng sản…
Hắn thấy, hắn nghe về chiến tranh qua thông tin một chiều của bên thắng trận tại các bảo tàng. Ở những nơi này Mỹ – Ngụy độc ác, Cộng Sản chính nghĩa sáng ngời. Hàng loạt địa chỉ đỏ, nơi thể hiện cộng sản tài ba, gan dạ, Mỹ – Ngụy toàn bọn nhát cáy, ngu si.

Hắn thấy về chiến tranh hôm nay là cả một dân tộc sợ hãi dưới sự cai trị của đảng cộng sản cầm quyền. Đảng luôn đúng. Đảng quang vinh. Để khi đảng nhận ra, “Có sự lãnh đạo sai lầm” thì hàng trăm, hàng ngàn, chục ngàn người phải bỏ mạng, lâm cảnh tán gia bại sản, gia đình tan tác.
Hắn thấy về toàn thắng của chính nghĩa là cả dân tộc hơn 45 năm qua không hề có tự do, dân chủ… bị trói trong những giáo điều rỗng tuếch, phải học đạo đức giả dối, lý tưởng xa lạ trong một xã hội thực.
Hắn thấy về chiến thắng nơi người làm lãnh đạo chỉ cần cái thẻ đảng và biết phục tùng, không cần giỏi, kinh nghiệm… Là quyền lực nằm trong tay đảng và công an.
Hắn thấy về sự thống nhất để rồi lòng người Bắc – Nam vẫn đầy chia rẽ, ganh ghét, đố kỵ, nghi ngờ. Để người miền này thêm lý do để nghi ngờ miền kia. Người vùng này phải hơn vùng kia. Kiểu, “Tổng bí thư phải là người miền Bắc, có lý luận”. Là lúc mở ra để cái xấu được dịp lan đến mọi nơi trên đất Việt chứ không còn ở một huyện, một tỉnh, một vùng, một miền.
Chiến thắng bởi súng đạn là có thật, nhưng liệu đã chiến thắng trong lòng người, trong cái gọi là “giải phóng”?
“Giải phóng” chỉ là thời điểm ghi nhận cả dân tộc Việt đi lùi so với phần còn lại của thế giới.

Mais je ne connais et sais vraiment pas les préjudices du tout
Le Soleil et la Lune et grandes roues de l’Incarnation
Dont nous nous sentons et ressentons la façon de danser étourdie
Valsent harmonieusement dans l’Univers
Et lorsque tout conte de fées est vrai
Je regarde la Réconciliation Nationale de cette façon
Et maintenant, j’appartiens aux Deux Côtés
